Our long-term client Spotify engaged us to provide strategic thought partnership for the launch of their first live music product, Spotify Stages. The streaming service’s new endeavor had to fit seamlessly into their existing brand universe while translating the electrifying energy of live music across a wide variety of applications — before, during, and after every show.

Approach
Going from streaming to the stage is a natural progression for Spotify, and our brand system evolves alongside to reflect the power of seeing your favorite artists perform live. Our visual identity utilizes a signature spotlight shape and frame-based grid system to evoke the movement and immediacy of performance, and flexes to accommodate motion and action photography.
Our guiding strategy heroes the artist but focuses on the fan experience, with a visual profile that personalizes the anticipation and excitement of seeing artists IRL.
